Who is this class for?

Fighting Fatigue is for people who want a gentle return to exercise. It is designed for people managing fatigue from a long-term health condition, and for people having, or recovering from, cancer treatment.

What happens in the class

The class works on strength, balance, muscle weakness, flexibility and pain. Most importantly, it takes your fatigue into account. It is a gentle return to exercise, with plenty of rest between exercises.

The physiotherapist or exercise physiologist adjusts every exercise to how you feel on the day.

Before your first class

Book a 30-minute class assessment ($50) with one of our physiotherapists or exercise physiologists. We check what you can do safely, talk about your goals and put you in the right class. Common questions

What if I am too tired to finish the class?

That is fine. Rest is part of the class, and you can stop or slow down at any time. The clinician will adjust things on the day.

Can exercise help with fatigue?

For many people, gentle and regular exercise helps them feel less tired over time. We start slowly and build up only when you are ready.

Do I need a doctor's letter?

Not usually. Bring along any information you have about your condition or treatment to your class assessment.
