Who is this class for?

All About Balance is for anyone who wants help with their balance and to lower their risk of falls. It suits you if you feel unsteady, have had a fall, or want to stay confident on your feet as you get older.

What happens in the class

It is a fun, circuit-style class. You work on leg strength and balance, using weights, balance beams, foam mats and other equipment and activities.

A physiotherapist or exercise physiologist runs the class and adjusts every exercise to your level, so you are challenged but safe.

Common questions

I am worried about falling during the class. Is it safe?

Yes. The clinician sets up every exercise so you have support nearby, and starts you at a level that feels safe.

Can balance really improve?

Yes. Balance and leg strength improve with practice at any age, which is why regular classes help.

Can I come if I use a walking stick?

Usually, yes. Bring it along to your class assessment and we will plan around it.
