About us
Physiotherapy, exercise physiology and remedial massage on Eyre Street, North Ward, since 2001.

A different kind of physio clinic
At Physionorth we treat one patient at a time, use fewer machines, and take the time to look at you as a whole person. We use the ConnectTherapy approach to find what is driving your pain, which is often not where it hurts.
Once we know the cause, we retrain how your brain and muscles work together so you move more efficiently. That is the key to helping your pain stay away. Our longer appointments leave room for hands-on treatment, exercise and clear explanations.
Our vision is to help people enjoy life by achieving their best health and movement.
Our story
Physionorth was founded in North Ward in 2001 by Melissa Hooper. In 2008 physiotherapist Jaquie Goldsack bought the practice.
Jaquie started her career at a busy sports and orthopaedic practice, where she learned a lot from great mentors but grew frustrated by short appointments that left little time for proper treatment. She wanted a clinic where people felt listened to, could take an active part in their recovery, and could get a thorough assessment even when their pain had no obvious cause.
Her questions led her to further study with leading physiotherapists, including Peter O'Sullivan, Barbara Hungerford and Dr Linda-Joy Lee. LJ Lee's ConnectTherapy approach answered many of them, and Jaquie completed LJ's year-long ConnectTherapy series. She now trains the whole team to assess the whole person, taking into account each patient's story, history and beliefs.
Today Physionorth is a team of physiotherapists, an exercise physiologist, remedial massage therapists and a friendly admin team. Meet the team.
